e_Catalogue Raisonné

The electronic Catalogue Raisonné (e_CR) is a work in progress. 10 artworks from a total of over 990 still need to be added. If you are unable to find a work please feel free to ask here.

The e_CR offers different ways for you to find a work by Jochen Gerz:

Click an artwork in the full list of WORKS randomly displayed under infinity (∞).

Click a letter in the alphabet and find works under their respective titles.

Use the Find button to select artworks by keyword or category filters. Validate your choice by clicking on (V) Move on.

Go to another artwork by clicking the titles left and right.

Find artworks of the same series by clicking their number (#).

Find related works – if any – by clicking their titles at the bottom of the page.

Contextualise a work by selecting the corresponding decade in Jochen Gerz's autobiography "CONTEMPORANEITIES".

Google the title of any artwork and the artist’s name to go directly to its entry.

Entries include the title, the CR number and the year of realization, a broad range of photography, the artwork texts, quotes by critics, categories and keywords, and a box with all scholarly information about the work. You can identify groups of works on each page from category and keyword filters and then clicking on the infinity symbol (∞).

The e_CR is based on the print edition of the Catalogue Raisonné, which has been elaborated during more than ten years of research. The CR numbers reflect the categories and the chronology of the artworks.
